Improving growth and productivity of asparagus racemosus : Effect of N.P.K. and growth regulators

Experiments were conducted to study the influence of macro nutrients and different growth regulators on growth and productivity of the plant Asparagus racemosus (Liliaceae). Macro nutrients like urea, super phosphate, muriate of potash as the source of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium were used. The effect of different growth regulator like indole-3-yl-acetic acid, indole-3yl-butic acid, alpha-naphthalene acetic acid and gibberellic acid was studied. The combination of growth regulators was studied in the presence of super phosphate. The detailed results indicated that urea, super phosphate, muriate of potash improved the growth and biomass of the plants. Combination of super phosphate with growth regulators further improved the growth.
